Southwest monsoon to affect parts of Luzon on Friday

MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon will continue to affect parts of Luzon on Friday, August 26.
In its bulletin issued 5 pm on Thursday, August 25, state weather bureau PAGASA said light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected in the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and Mimaropa.
The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have just isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA also said coastal waters throughout the country will be moderate to rough, with moderate to strong winds.
Typhoon Dindo (Lionrock), meanwhile, remains inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), but it is not affecting the country.
As of 4 pm on Thursday, Dindo was 970 kilometers east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, barely moving.
The typhoon has maximum winds of 160 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gustiness of up to 195 km/h.
Dindo will not make landfall in the Philippines.
