East Asia, led by China, is rapidly aging and has the world's largest share of the aging population ages 65 and over, or 211 million people, according to a new World Bank report released on 09 December 2015. At more than a third of the global population, the fast graying population will result in a significant reduction in adult work force and have vast implications on the economic growth and public services of the region. China alone will incur a net loss of 90 million workers by 2040 according to the report. EPA/HOW HWEE YOUNG
