Technology company Microsoft on 29 January 2016 announced quarterly profit and revenues which exceededed analysts' expectations due to good performance of the 'cloud' business. The Seattle based company announced earnings of 5 billion US dollars during the second quarter of its fiscal year, which ended in December, down from 5.86 billion in the previous year, but above analysts predictions. The company has decided to focus on cloud service and mobile applications, aiming to drive its growth and counter the slowdown in its traditional line of business. EPA/JAGADEESH NV
