DAVAO CITY, Philippines – A magnitude 6.1 earthquake rocked Southern Mindanao on Monday afternoon, July 14, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs posted that the quake struck 88 kilometers southeast of Don Marcelino town in Davao Occidental at around 3:59 in the afternoon.
The quake which was tectonic in origin has a depth of 10 kilometers.
The first bulletin issued by Phivolcs said Intensity 2 was felt in General Santos City.
No damages were reported but aftershocks are expected, Phivolcs said. – Rappler.com
