MANILA, Philippines – By now, everybody knows that the Catholic Church has chosen a new pope in Argentina’s Jorge Bergoglio. So let us tell you what you do not know about Pope Francis: he is a sports fan, and not just a regular sports supporter. Pope Francis is a card-carrying member of Argentine Primera Division Team Club Atletico San Lorenzo de Almagro.
Upon hearing the Habemus Papam announcement at the Vatican Thursday morning in Manila, March 14, San Lorenzo de Almagro was also joyous in telling everyone in Twitter that they have one of the most powerful persons on the face of the planet supporting them:

San Lorenzo is currently in 12th place in the Argentine top tier league but expect them to perform better with no less than the Pope of the Catholic Church rooting for and praying for them. And while we are at it, are we finally gonna see Messi bring the next World Cup to Argentina?
