Streak ends as Bulls stop Heat
MANILA, Philippines -- All good things come to an end.
The Chicago Bulls ended the Miami Heat's historic NBA winning streak at 27 with a 101-97 victory Wednesday (Thursday morning in Manila), March 27, at the United Center.
Luol Deng had 28 points, seven rebounds and five assists while Carlos Boozer delivered his best game of the season --- including the game-turning layup with 57 seconds left --- and finished with 21 markers and 17 boards.
The Bulls led from the get-go, erecting a 13-2 bubble in the first few minutes before a strong finishing kick led by threes from Deng and buckets from Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson and Boozer contributed in stopping the Heat from reaching the 33-game win streak record of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Miami played themselves into the game in the third quarter but the defending world champions failed to overcome the rebounding deficit, 41-32, to lose for the first time since February.
LeBron James paced the Heat with 32 points and seven rebounds. - Rappler.com
