LOOK: Adidas, Andrew Wiggins unveil Crazylight Boost 2.5 PEs
MANILA, Philippines – Global shoe brand Adidas and reigning NBA rookie of the year Andrew Wiggins have partnered to deliver brand-new Adidas Crazylight Boost 2.5 PEs which have two designs you can choose from.
Here’s a look at one of the two, Marita, which is dedicated to Wiggins’ mother:
According to Adidas’ press release, the shoe is in honor of Marita Payne-Wiggins, a former Olympic sprinter who helped Canada win two silvers (4x100 and 4x400-meter relays) in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
According to the Adidas statement, the red-and-white outsole is a tribute to Wiggins’ home country, Canada.
The other shoe is the North Star, with a blue-and-black colorway owing to the team colors of Wiggins’ club, the Minnesota Timberwolves:
Last NBA season, Wiggins won Rookie of the Year after posting averages of 16.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists a game.
So far in his second season, Wiggins has upped his scoring average to 20.6 points while averaging 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists a game.
The T-Wolves currently have a 12-27 record after losing 7 straight games. – Rappler.com
