MANILA, Philippines – Cleveland Cavaliers forward Richard Jefferson may have played his final game after winning an NBA championship on Sunday, June 19 (Monday Manila time).
The 35-year-old player, who has played 15 years in the NBA, told Fox Sports Ohio he will be retiring according to multiple sources,
As the celebrations wore on after defeating the Golden State Warriors in Game 7, Jefferson, who filled in for Kevin Love in Game 3 after he was forced to sit due to a concussion, then seemed to keep the option of staying open.
"My teammates keep trying to talk me out of it, and I'm like guys, this has been the most stressful month of my life. I was like, 'I don't know,'" he told NBA TV, per ESPN.
"Maybe. If you ask me now, yes. But we'll see," he then said talking to ESPN.
Jefferson played for 6 other teams aside from the Cavaliers, including the New Jersey Nets, the San Antonio Spurs, the Dallas Mavericks, and his most recent foe, the Warriors.
In Game 7 he contributed two points and 9 rebounds in over 25 minutes of play as the Cavs overcame the Warriors, 93-89. – Rappler.com
