Melo ruins LeBron's homecoming, Westbrook injury (NBA wRap)
MANILA, Philippines – Carmelo Anthony and the rest of the New York Knicks spoiled LeBron's Cleveland homecoming, Oklahoma City Thunder suffered another setback as Westbrook suffered a hand injury, and John Wall dropped 30 points as Wizards lord over Magic.

Washington Wizards defeat Orlando Magic (105-98)
John Wall earned stat-line of the day honors after dropping 30 points on the Magic to go along with 12 dimes and 5 boards. Wall had help inside as Marcin Gortat tallied 20 points and 12 rebounds while veteran Paul Pierce added 16 points in his first regular season game as a Wizard.
Nikola Vucevic led the way for Orlando with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Highlight of the game goes to this Gordon-to-Gordon connection for the Magic as rookie Aaron Gordon ran the break and skied for the alley-oop slam off an assist by veteran shooter Ben Gordon.
Minnesota Timberwolves defeat Detroit Pistons (97-91)
2014 NBA Draft top overall pick Andrew Wiggins had a solid but not stellar debut, contributing 8 points and 4 rebounds in 24 minutes of play in Minnesota's win over Detroit. Thaddeus Young led 4 other Wolves in double figures in the win.
New Pistons Caron Butler (24 points) and DJ Augustin (20 points) led Detroit in scoring. Both players came off the bench.
New York Knicks defeat Cleveland Cavaliers (95-90)
LeBron James was poised to make a splash in his first official game back as a Cleveland Cavaliers, but Melo and the rest of the Knicks had other plans. The Knicks forward, who hit a clutch jumper over James late in the game, dropped 25 points to ruin LeBron's emotional return to his hometown team.
Kyrie Irving led the Cavs with 22 points.
Dallas Mavericks defeat Utah Jazz (120-102)
There was no shortage of firepower in this game as a total of 12 players scored in double figures in scoring. Derrick Favors (17 points) led the way as the rest of the Jazz starters had at least 11 points. But the Mavericks had more ammunition led by forwards Dirk Nowitzki and Chandler Parsons who each scored 21 points to lead 5 other Mavs who scored more than 10 points.
LA Clippers defeat OKC Thunder (93-90)
The OKC Thunder suffered another major setback as they lose their second star to injury when Russell Westbrook sustained a fractured right hand after a rebound play in the second quarter. The Thunder are already without reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant who is out because of a foot injury.
The Thunder managed to keep the game close as forward Perry Jones exploded for 32 points. Unfortunately, they could not overcome the Clippers' All Star duo of Chris Paul (22 points) and Blake Griffin (23 points)
