Leonard, 26, "isn't concerned" about missing out on a supermax deal because there is a "feeling of betrayal" by the Spurs that appears to have done irreparable damage to their relationship, per Chris Haynes of ESPN.
The former Defensive Player of the Year and Finals MVP can potentially miss out on $31 million by signing an extension with a different team other than the Spurs.
San Antonio can offer him a supermax deal for 5-years worth $219 million, while others can only offer $188 million, like his hometown Los Angeles.
Going from the fact sheets to the rumor mills, incoming free agents LeBron James and Paul George are also linked to joining the Lakers. The team can potentially make a new superteam with all 3 players as their new core.
