Meralco beats Alaska, clinches twice-to-beat seed
MANILA, Philippines – The Meralco Bolts won their third straight game and clinched a twice-to-beat seed in the Commissioner’s Cup playoffs following a 107-101 victory over the Alaska Aces on Friday, April 8, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Veteran Jimmy Alapag had 16 points in the win for the Bolts, who held off a late Aces rally to secure the win. Alaska dropped to 6-4, putting the team in a 3-way tie with Ginebra and Rain or Shine.
Bolts import Arinze Onuaku had 28 points and 19 rebounds as well for Meralco.
Alaska was led by the 28 points of Calvin Abueva, while Vic Manuel scored 13. – Rappler.com
