HIGHLIGHTS: PBA Finals 2018 Game 3 - Barangay Ginebra vs San Miguel Beermen
MANILA, Philippines – We have a series.
San Miguel eyes to make it two wins in a row while Barangay Ginebra looks to regain the lead when they square off in Game 3 of the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup finals at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, August 1.
The first two contests had been blowouts for both squads, with the Gin Kings pulling off a 28-point win in Game 1 and the Beermen returning the favor with a 25-point triumph in Game 2 to knot the best-of-7 duel at 1-1.
But for Ginebra super import Justin Brownlee, the series is bound to get tougher and grittier. (READ: Last thing Brownlee expects in PBA Finals is another blowout)
While the two games were both lopsided wins, they were not short of fireworks and drama, most especially in Game 2.
San Miguel's Arwind Santos was slapped with a disqualifying foul in Game 2 for lowering his shoulder against Ginebra's Scottie Thompson. But the league has since downgraded the flagrant foul penalty 2 to a flagrant foul penalty 1.
Santos' teammate, Chris Ross, was also tossed out for incurring his second technical foul when he engaged in a shouting match with Joe Devance, who was also called for a technical foul.
Beermen import Renaldo Balkman was also whistled for a flagrant foul penalty 1 late in the 3rd quarter of the contest.
As the series resumes, Ginebra head coach Tim Cone anticipates the upcoming games to get more intense. (READ: Ginebra's Tim Cone expects 'chippier' battle as PBA finals progresses)
