PH Dragon Boat team moves to finals of ICF World Championships
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Dragon Boat team finished with a time of 1 minute and 50.02 seconds in the senior men’s 20-seater 500 meters competition heat race 1 on Thursday, August 28 to advance to the finals of the ICF Dragon Boat World Championships in Poznan, Poland.
The Philippines finished first place over Ukraine and Italy. They also bested the time of last year’s champions Russia, who finished at 1 minute and 52.88 seconds in heat race 2.
The country’s dragon boat team will compete in the finals Thursday night, August 28.
Meanwhile, in the junior men’s 10-seater 500 meters competition, the Philippines also finished first with a time of 2 minutes, 13.45 seconds. They trumped defending champions Russia once again, who finished at 2 minutes and 18 seconds.
