Philippine women's volley team dominates Malaysia at SEA Games

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine women’s volleyball bounced back confidently, defeating Malaysia in straight sets, 25-15, 25-18, 25-16, in the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore.
Reigning UAAP MVP Alyssa Valdez led the way with 13 points while Dindin Santiago-Manabat contributed 8 and Rachel Anne Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga contributed 7 each.

The team composed of former and present Philippine collegiate stars suffered a three-set loss to Indonesia on Wednesday, but appeared to have fun throughout as Valdez and Santiago-Manabat dominated with their power game and libero Denden Lazaro kept matters under control in the middle.
Filipino supporters made their way out to the OCBC Arena to root on the popular squad. Fans in the Philippines were able to watch the action live via stream and on AksyonTV, after they were left disgruntled by the lack of coverage of yesterday's game.
