NU blasts UB behind Santiago's 23 points

MANILA, Philippines — Jaja Santiago uncorked 23 points and the National University Lady Bulldogs were unstoppable in a sweep of newcomer University of Batangas Lady Brahmans, 25-16, 25-14, 25-19, in Group A of the Shakey's V-League 12 Collegiate Conference on Sunday, July 19 at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The towering 6-foot-2 Santiago had an all-around performance as she converted 15 spikes, tallied 3 blocks and connected on 5 service aces.

Myla Pablo provided support with 13 points including 10 attacks as NU improved to 2-0.

The Lady Brahmans could not catch a break despite the Lady Bulldogs' 31 errors as Krissa Madalogdog led them with 6 points.

Kimberly Jamillia added 4 as UB slipped to 0-2.

NU will next see action against Arellano University on Saturday, July 25 while UB faces UP the following day. — Rappler.com
