MANILA, Philippines - In a matchup that lived up to its billing, the Ateneo Lady Eagles defeated the De La Salle University Lady Spikers, 25-22, 25-27, 16-25, 25-14, 15-9, to sweep round one of the UAAP women's volleyball tournament on Sunday, January 11, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Reigning league MVP Alyssa Valdez led the defending champions with 26 points, while Amy Ahomiro finished with 13.

ADMU finished the first round at 7-0, while La Salle dropped to 6-1.
