MANILA, Philippines – Microsoft sneakily showed off its follow-up to the well-received Surface Book laptop originally released in 2015.
The tech giant revealed the laptop in a blog post by Microsoft Devices corporate vice president Panos Panay on Tuesday, October 17, US time.
The executive touted the versatility of the device. "Surface Book 2 removes the barrier between the desktop and the laptop by giving mobile professionals the power of a desktop, the versatility of a tablet, and the freedom of a light and thin laptop in one beautifully designed device," Panay said.
Equipped with 8th-gen Intel Core chips, Microsoft said it's 5 times more powerful than the original Surface Book and twice as powerful as while lasting 70% longer than the latest MacBook Pro. It's compatible with inputs such as the Surface Dial, a physical dial that allows users to control certain parameters, and the Surface Pen. See for yourself and check out the photos below:
