Apple Event 2015: Apple announces the iPad Pro
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Apple announced Wednesday, September 9 (September 10, Manila time) that it was coming out with a new iPad version called the iPad Pro.
The iPad Pro sports a 12.9-inch display, with 5.6 million pixels and refined multi-touch technology. A new 4-speaker audio design also provides rich sound quality in a sturdy package.
It also takes advantage of an A9X chip, which is 1.8 times faster the A8X in the Air 2. This provides "desktop-class performance," and combines with a console-class GPU for an impressive experience.
The iPad Pro is faster than 80% of the PCs that shipped in the past 6 months. Graphics are also faster than 90% of those PCs. It also has a 10-hour battery life.
The iPad Pro, Tim Cook explained, is "the most capable and powerful iPad we've ever created. It is chock full of amazing technologies and innovations."
Along with the iPad Pro are two new accessories meant to complement the device; a new Smart Keyboard cover, and the Apple Pencil, a stylus for the iPad Pro that can be charged using the lightning connector hidden inside the Pencil's body.
The iPad Pro starts at $799 for a 32GB model and goes up to $1,079 for a 128GB model with WiFI and Cellular connectivity. It will come in Space Gray, Gold, and Silver colors.
The Smart Keyboard will sell for $169 and the Apple Pencil will go for $99.
The iPad Pro is set to come out in November. – Rappler.com
