Samsung launches Gear S2 smartwatch, Galaxy Studio in PH

MANILA, Philippines – Samsung showcased the launch of the Galaxy Studio venue and the Gear S2 smartwatch on Thursday, November 26, by welcoming members of the media and celebrities to a unique visual display.
During the presentation, Samsung transformed the SM Mall of Asia LED Globe into the world’s largest smartwatch to mark the launch of the Gear S2.
The event also saw Samsung introducing its latest ambassadors and partnerships for the Gear S2. Among those in attendance were fashion designer Francis Libiran, fashion photographer BJ Pascual, fitness evangelist Xander Angeles, and a host of fashion and lifestyle bloggers.
Joining the Samsung Gear S2 ambassadors were Samsung Galaxy brand ambassador Liz Uy, as well as Rajo Laurel, Bubbles Paraiso, Carla Humphries, and others who celebrated the successful launch of the Galaxy Studio andthe unveiling of the Gear S2.

Complementing the Gear S2
To complement the Gear S2, Marilou Co of Marilou Jewelry created and showcased a P20-million strap for the smartwatch.
The strap was encrusted with 200 VVS diamonds hand-set on genuine black calfskin leather, supported by an 18k platinum white gold lockset.
During a separate segment a third-party proof-of-concept application connected to a Gear S2 was used to lock and unlock a Limited Edition Volkswagen Beetle 1.4L Turbo.
The Gear S2
The Gear S2 and the Gear S2 classic both sport a dual-core 1.0GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory.
Supporting Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Near Field Communications (NFC), the device also is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.4 with 1.5 GB of RAM or above.
What separates the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 classic, however, is the look. Whereas the Gear S2 has a more modern, minimalist design, the Gear S2 classic is meant for users preferring a more timeless watch design, coming with a black finish and a matching genuine leather band.
The Gear S2 will cost P13,490 ($286) while the Gear S2 classic will sell for P15,490 ($329).
Galaxy Studio for a limited time
The Galaxy Studio will be available from November 27 to December 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Cyberzone, allowing interested shoppers to try out various Samsung gadgets, such as the newly launched Gear S2, as well as Samsung’s latest smartphones and tablets.
The Gear VR virtual reality headset and the Level On wireless headphones will also be on display at the venue. – Rappler.com
