Sony, ESL Gaming to hold Call of Duty Asia Championship
MANILA, Philippines – Fans of first-person shooter video game Call of Duty: Black Ops III will want to prepare for a serious online gunfight on the PlayStation 4 (PS4).
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan - Asia and ESL Gaming have opened registration for the Call of Duty Asia Championship to be held throughout January, culminating in a Finals competition at the 2016 Taipei Game Show on February 1.
Sony announced Tuesday, January 5, that 4-on-4 online battles for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, and Southeast Asia are set for January 9 and 10. These online qualifiers will be held for players from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines).
A team of 4 from each region will eventually head to Taiwan, facing off in the Call of Duty Asia Championship Final.
Regional prizes for the Philippines will include free air tickets and hotel accommodations to participate in the finals.
A 1TB Call of Duty: Black Ops III Limited Edition PS4 Bundle and a Juggernog mini refrigerator will also be given to the Most Valuable Player.
In the finals, regional champions will receive $2,000 while the grand prize winners will receive $6,000.
