MANILA, Philippines – Facebook is moving one step closer to allowing everyone to become a Live Video streamer.
The company announced Thursday, January 28 (January 29, Manila time), that it is enabling Live Video sharing on iOS to everyone in the US.
According to Facebook Product Manager Vadim Lavrusik, the capability to share live video on Facebook – previously accessible only to public figures and those with verified accounts – will also be rolling out "to the rest of the world over the coming weeks."
The company is also working on bringing the Live Video feature to a wider Android phone user base soon.
US iPhone users who are experiencing Live Video for the first time can quickly access the feature by tapping on Update Status, then selecting the Live Video icon. They can then write a quick description and choose the audience they want to share the video with before going live.
While filming, users will be able to see the number of live viewers, friends who are tuned in, and a real-time comments stream. – Rappler.com
