New LG X series set to be unveiled
MANILA, Philippines – LG announced on Monday, February 15, that it would introduce a new series of smartphones – the X series – at the 2016 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The devices in this series, dubbed the X cam and the X screen, will offer one exceptional feature at a price point rivaling mid-range smartphones.
The X cam
The LG X cam's focus is on providing a great photo-shooting experience by sporting two rear-facing cameras (13-megapixel and 5-megapixel) and a front-facing camera (8-megapixel). It takes advantage of a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080x1920 resolution, a 1.14GHz Octa-Core processor, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of storage space.
Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the X cam also uses a 2,520 mAh battery and comes in Titan Silver, White, Gold, and Pink Gold.
The X screen
The LG X screen, meanwhile sports a pair of screens, rather than cameras. It has a 4.93-inch In-cell main screen with a 720x1280 HD resolution, as well as a 1.76-inch secondary screen on top. The secondary screen shows notifications and other information in an always-on fashion, without any need to turn on the phone. Users will also be able to access their favorite apps from the screen.
The X screen sports a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space. This device is powered by a 2300 mAh battery, and also uses Android 6.0 as its base operating system.
The X screen will be offered in Black, White, and Pink Gold.
LG's X series will debut in key markets in Asia, Europe, and Latin America next month, with additional information available at the Mobile World Congress after their announcement event. – Rappler.com
