THE FLIP-PHONE RETURNS. Starmobile's UNO F301 brings back the clamshell design of an earlier time.
MANILA, Philippines – Starmobile is adding a new feature phone to its lineup of offerings, and it's doing so with a device that takes on the clamshell or flip-phone design.
The new phone, dubbed the UNO F301, comes with a 1.8-inch colored screen display, a VGA camera with flash for taking photos and videos, an FM radio with speaker, and has quad band GSM. The UNO F301 is priced at P899.
In a statement, Ardie Balderama, Starmobile's sales and marketing head, said, "Many Filipinos in both urban and rural areas still look for feature phones because of their simplicity, dependability, and affordability.”
“We continue to be committed to this market by providing them with a variety of well-designed options that will serve their needs well while giving them pride of ownership," he added.
The flip-phone design was popular in the mid-2000s such as the one sported by the Motorola RAZR series. – Rappler.com
