MANILA, Philippines – Pornography website Pornhub came out with a new service on Thursday, May 24 to allow privacy-minded individuals to have better protection online.
VPNhub is a virtual private network (VPN) service with both a free tier and a $12.99 premium subscription tier which removes advertising and supposedly provides faster access. (READ: What is a VPN and how can it keep me secure online?)
While free users only have access to the VPN server nearest their location, premium users can choose a different location to be based in from the service's server listings.
A VPN encrypts the data sent and received by those connecting to it, allowing users to surf with further anonymity online.
VPNhub, for its part, promises unlimited bandwidth for both free and premium users, and also said it will not log any user data.
The VPNhub app, which is used to get access to the virtual private network, is available for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android devices for most countries around the world. In its FAQ page, VPNhub says the service will not work, however, in Myanmar, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria. Meanwhile, prospective users in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and China may find the app blocked. – Rappler.com
