Windows 10 to launch July 29
MANILA, Philippines – Microsoft announced Monday, June 1, that Windows 10 will be released on July 29, 2015.
Earlier said to be launching in 190 countries in the summer, Windows 10 is set to be a free upgrade for all legitimate owners of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and Windows 8.1 for the first year from its launch date.
Users can take advantage of the free upgrade offer, or grab a new Windows 10 PC from retailers.
According to Microsoft's announcement post, existing eligible users should see a new icon on their desktop's system tray denoting their ability to reserve their upgrade. The upgrade, according to the reservation information, requires 3GB for the download, as well as an Internet connection.
