MANILA, Philippines – Along with the announcement of iOS 9, the latest iteration of the iOS mobile operating system, is a new app for reading news and other content that matters to you.
The News app – which will come in the fall with iOS 9 – is essentially an enhanced news reader that presents news from over a million topics in an easy-to-read magazine format. The app is also privacy-friendly, allowing users to read what they want without fear of their user data being sold.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, said of the News app's current stable of supporters, “We already have nearly 20 publishers representing more than 50 titles joining us, including Condé Nast, ESPN, The New York Times, Hearst, Time Inc., CNN and Bloomberg.”

News presents the stories you want to read through a customized newsfeed, which Apple is calling For You.
Additional features include the ability to see the publisher channels and topics they've chosen to follow in their Favorites function, as well as an Explore function for discovering new content and receiving suggestions that are personalized to what you like reading.
Along with Apple News comes the Apple News Format, which is a way for news publishers to adapt their news stories for proper viewing on the News app.
Publishers can check out www.icloud.com/newspublisher. Additional publishing tools will be made available later in the year.
News will have a staggered release, first rolling out in the US, UK, and Australia once iOS 9 comes out this fall. – Rappler.com
