Fans of Letterman's The Late Show with David Letterman turned to Twitter to express their appreciation when the show's run ended on Wednesday, May 21 (Thursday Manila time). Viewers felt that Letterman’s wit, humor, and realness were irreplaceable, and most of them were sad that the show had come to an end.

Letterman, considered the king of America’s special brand of late-night television, closed the door on a pioneering, 33-year-long career that inspired a generation of comedians.
