Must-watch videos from this week

BACK FROM BATTLE. About 160 members of Philippine National Police-Special Action Forces arrive at Pier 4 of North Port in Manila on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, after months of fighting against local terrorists in Marawi City. Photo by Inoue Jaena/Rappler

Dear Rappler readers,

Even after the declaration of Marawi “free” from terrorists, President Rodrigo Duterte told Filipinos to prepare for “any eventuality,” to be alert for any possible incident or situation. Soldiers and policemen who fought in Marawi were hailed as heroes, with Philippine National Police chief Ronald dela Rosa promoting all Marawi-assigned elite cops one rank higher.

Unlike Marawi, all is not quiet on the political front. The woes of Comelec chairman Andres Bautista continue, with Malacañang calling his resignation effective “immediately.” Duterte’s daughter Sara launched a coalition called “Tapang at Malasakit,” calling for an end to “destructive politicking.”

The case of slain law student Horacio Castillo III continues, with a twist in the testimony of witness John Paul Solano, who claimed Castillo died from a pre-existing heart condition. Castillo’s parents deny any pre-existing condition.

Now, on to some good, inspiring news – Hollywood actors Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth were thrilled to receive action figures made of tsinelas. Get to know Elmer Padilla, the Filipino who made the Hulk and Thor action figures.

Here are stories we think you shouldn't miss.
