Good morning Rappler readers!

In a bit of good news this week, the Philippines and the United States reaffirmed their alliance and agreed to further reinforce the partnership between the two countries during the first meeting of their top diplomats in Washington. Based on statements from the Philippine embassy in Washington and the US State Department, Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed regional issues and ways to improve bilateral trade and security cooperation.

In other news, Melania Trump surprised the world by visiting child migrants on the US-Mexico border Thursday, June 21, but the choice of clothing for the trip – a jacket emblazoned with the words "I really don't care, do you?" – stunned the internet.
