President Rodrigo Duterte accepts the resignation of Tourism Promotions Board chief Cesar Montano. Defeated presidential candidate Mar Roxas seems to have not completely shut the door to a 2019 Senate run. The Armed Forces refuses to comment on Chinese bombers landing at the contested Paracel Islands but says 'it is doing its mandate' to defend Philippine territory.
