SC JUNKS LIMITS ON POL ADS
Be prepared for lots of political advertisements in the run-up to the 2016 presidential elections. On final ruling, the Supreme Court junks Comelec limits on airtime for political ads in the upcoming 2016 elections. The court rules the maximum allowable airtime for national candidates’ ads at 120 minutes per TV station and 180 minutes per radio station. During the last elections, the Commission on Elections limited candidates to a total of 120 minutes in all TV station ads and 180 minutes in radio station ads. The court says the limits violated freedom of expression, the press and right to suffrage.

KIM HENARES NOW A UN TAX EXPERT
Internal Revenue chief Kim Henares joins the ranks of the United Nations’ tax experts committee.
The committee is responsible for exploring ways to facilitate tax treaties between developed and developing countries.
Henares’ term started October. Her term will end on June 30, 2017.

'EAT, PRAY, LOOT': #FYOLANDA 'RAVE' CONCERT DRAWS ONLINE FLAK
A group is organizing a dance party for the anniversary of Super Typhoon Haiyan - locally known as Yolanda.
The tagline? "Party like it never happened; remember because it did."
Called #FYolanda, others complained online about quote - “inappropriate messaging”given the tragic nature of last year's events.
Among the complaints, the group sells t-shirts that say "Eat, Pray, Loot."

REPUBLICANS WIN US CONGRESS ELECTIONS
Republicans in the US Congress dominate the American midterm elections Tuesday night or early morning Wednesday Manila time.
Republicans seize at least seven seats from Democrats to claim the majority in the Senate and House of Representatives for the first time since 2006.
The Republican victory may mean more trouble ahead for President Barack Obama, a Democrat, in his last two years.

IVERSON TO YOUNG PLAYERS: ‘DON’T BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF’
Former NBA star player Allen Iverson is in the Philippines as part of All In - a charity basketball event. Iverson says he doesn't see himself coaching, but wants to mentor to young players.

To be able to let yourself grow, don’t feel like you gotta come right in and turn into a household name right from the beginning. Don’t be so hard on yourself, let it come to you.”
