Facebook rolls out Instant Articles
If Facebook had its way, you will never leave it’s virtual walls. And that’s happening this week, as Facebook launches “Instant Articles," removing the need to click out of your Facebook feed and wait for the websites to load.
The social media giant claims Instant Articles load 10 times faster.
“Instant Articles” natively hosts publishers’ content in its app’s News Feed.
Rolling out first on iOS, rich-media stories will initially come from the likes of The New York Times, BuzzFeed and National Geographic.
Publishers need not fear that the social network would keep all the data because Facebook shares the analytics.
Instant Articles will be compatible with audience measurement and attribution tools like comScore, Omniture, and Google Analytics.
Best of all, Instant Articles will feel like a publisher’s website – displaying articles with fonts, layouts, and formats like the original.
But Instant Articles won’t receive preferential treatment from Facebook’s News Feed sorting algorithm.
Is it a game-changer? We’ll know soon enough... but it’s definitely huge. – Rappler.com
